Scenario 1: Recounts in Arizona and Georgia result in an overwhelming victory for former President Donald Trump. Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell and House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy succumb to powerful pressure from the Republican base and call for more recounts in purple states that had close elections. Recounts can only be administered by Cyber Ninjas, the company owned by members of the Stop the Steal movement.
The tainted audits determine that Donald Trump is the clear winner in the 2020 presidential election.
Scenario 2: Because of a shortage of vaccinated people and the raging vitality of the ever evolving variants, Covid 19 rears its ugly head and returns for yet another wave. The only problem this time, as the virus begins to wreak havoc on first unvaccinated and then the vaccinated, state leaders are more hesitant to administer yet another lockdown and mask mandate.
Americans who’ve tasted normalcy for a short period of time and are burned out to covid fatigue resist. More and more Americans die, dwarfing the previous wave of 460,000 deaths. Even citizens who followed the first CDC guidelines to a tee are eschewing the latest promulgations.
The unvaccinated feel vindicated that the vaccines were a waste of time and that new lockdowns are a further trampling of their rights. The vaccinated have finally decided enough is enough. Because the unvaccinated refused to exercise their civic responsibilities, health facilities are non existent for the seriously ill and dying.

Masked vs. unmasked.
Sprinkle in elimination of gun laws and regulations, at least in Texas, Florida and a few other states combined with the burgeoning voter suppression laws and if these 2 scenarios brew into a perfect political storm you will have pandemonium reigning in the good ole’ USA. Have I mentioned that several indictments on Donald Trump could come down soon causing the former president and his base more fodder for anger and action?
Ok, let’s pull back a little.
I am not saying this apocalyptic fate is sealed.
Maybe people will come to their senses about vaccinations and mask wearing. Maybe there will be enough sane people left in the GOP that they’ll pull back from brinkmanship and not allow the 2020 election be overturned.
But what are the chances of this civic nightmare happening? 10%? 20%? 30%?
